Save a business card to your contacts with Patrascan
- 1
Scan the business card
Open Patrascan, tap Scan and hold the phone over the card. The name, numbers, email, company, designation and address are read on your phone in a second or two.
- 2
Check the details
Look over the highlighted fields and fix anything with a tap. Make sure mobile and office numbers are labelled correctly.
- 3
Save the card
Tap Save. The card is now in Patrascan with its image, folder, tags and any follow-up reminder you set.
- 4
Tap Save to phone
On the contact, tap Save to phone and allow access to contacts the first time. Patrascan adds the person to your phone’s Contacts app with their numbers, email, company, designation and address.
- 5
Message them
The person now shows up in your dialer and WhatsApp. Tap WhatsApp in Patrascan to start the chat with a ready greeting.
Doing it by hand on Android
- Open the Contacts app (or the Phone app’s Contacts tab).
- Tap + or Create contact.
- Type the first and last name, company and title, then each phone number with its label (Mobile, Work).
- Add the email and address, and tap Save.
Doing it by hand on iPhone
- Open Contacts and tap +.
- Fill in the name, company, phone numbers, email and address.
- Tap Done.
Why scanning beats typing
- Fewer mistakes. One wrong digit in a mobile number means you never reach the person.
- The card stays with the contact. Patrascan keeps the card image, so you can always check the original.
- Context. You know where you met (folder), why they matter (tags, notes) and when to call (reminder).
Questions people also ask
Is Save to phone free?
Yes. Save to phone works on every Patrascan plan, including Free.
Will the contact sync to my Google or iCloud account?
Patrascan adds the contact to your phone’s Contacts app. Whether it syncs to Google or iCloud depends on the default account set in your phone’s contacts settings.
How do I save a contact without an app?
Open the Contacts app, tap the plus (+) button and type the name, numbers, email and company from the card. It works for one or two cards, but it is slow and typos are easy to make, which is why scanning helps.
